There are approximately 5,000 students, 300 professors, and 50 administrative staff in the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. Please, visit us at https://uamsseb.wordpress.com
The Faculty of Economics and Business Studies is by far the most international Faculty at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where almost 10% of our regular students and professors are coming from all over the World. At the Summer School of Economics and Business, the percentages are reversed, and more than 90% of our students and most of our professors are from all over the World. It is a great opportunity to find international friends for life, and make long lasting contacts. Please, visit us at https://uamsseb.wordpress.com
The Buddy Program matches our international students with Spanish students for advice and help. Our professors and local students are looking forward to meeting you! Please, visit us at https://uamsseb.wordpress.com
Our students are very grateful to have had the experience of studying in Spain at UAM. Don’t miss the opportunity to study with us! Please, visit us at https://uamsseb.wordpress.com
The students of UAM’s Summer School of Economics and Business in our Global Marketing course visited Mercamadrid, the largest wholesale food market in Spain, on July 2nd, 2019. Visiting Mercamadrid requires waking up very early, since the visit starts at 6:30 am! But it is worth it. Thanks to Mercamadrid for this wonderful visit!
After our Inauguration Seminar on the first day of the Program (June 24th, 2019), the students of UAM’s Summer School of Economics and Business enjoyed our traditional Paella on Campus. After the tasty meal, our local students in the Buddy Program led a Campus Tour first, and then our traditional Madrid Walking Tour.
The Madrid Walking Tour is not a classical “professional” tour. You can actually take this kind of tour free of charge thanks to the Municipal Government of Madrid. Our Madrid Walking Tour is an occasion for our students to get to know each other and begin to strengthen ties. They all take the commuter train from UAM to downtown, and in 21 minutes they are in the heart of the city, Puerta del Sol. Then, it is up to the taste of our “tour guides” where to lead the group.
This year, it seems they had a lot of fun. The tour ended at Temple of Debod, the oldest building in Madrid, although it wasn’t obviously originally built in Madrid. It was brought from Egypt, where it was going to disappear under the water after the Aswan Dam was built.
Great first day! Great group of students from all over the World!
We are going to remind in several posts all the wonderful activities that our students enjoyed during the past edition of UAM’s Summer School of Economics and Business.
Our program begun on June 24th, 2019, with the Seminar “Global Economic Transformations in a Low Carbon Economy”. Thanks to our Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Carmela Calés, and Vice-Dean for International Relations, Rafael de Arce, for presiding this very successful event!
Our director, Prof. Dr. Miguel Buñuel, delivered the first lecture: “An Economic Perspective on the Transition to a Low Carbon Economy”.
Prof. Dr. Toshi Arimura (Waseda University, Japan) delivered the Keynote Lecture: “Japan’s Climate Policy”.
Our Inauguration Seminar ended with a wonderful roundtable with Prof. Dr. Carmen Arguedas (UAM) as Chair, Prof. Dr. Ricardo Correia (UAM), Prof. Dr. Estela Díaz (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Spain), Prof. Dr. Toshi Arimura, and Prof. Dr. Miguel Buñuel.
